In 2007, I began selling handmade artwork at a Saturday morning farmers market just steps from my Wrigleyvillle condo. The collection included nearly 50 designs I had recently created as a hobby, working evenings and weekends. The art and graphics were influenced by my time in Chicago - sports imagery, typography, and lots of dog art inspired by our pet friendly neighborhood. The designs proved popular and within a few months I began distributing my pieces through various Chicago area retail stores in addition to my burgeoning online business.
In 2009 I moved to Ohio to manage and expand the graphics business. Within three years I grew the art business to over $1.5 million in annual sales through my direct to consumer, nationwide wholesale, and licensing partnerships. Dedicated to handcrafting my pieces, 75% of the work I sold was individually produced out of my studio space and on-site gift shop with the help of my production team. I have continued to lead art direction, marketing, and development of the brand with the creative catalog growing to over 4,000 images and revenues increasing for 15 consecutive years.
